Privacy policy

This website is my portfolio. I collect as little personal data as possible: there are no analytics, no advertising and no tracking cookies. This page explains what is processed when you visit the site or get in touch.

01

Who is responsible

Lars Peetermans, Florastraat 70, 2140 Antwerpen, Belgium. VAT / enterprise number BE1007.254.433. Email: info@larspeetermans.com

02

Visiting this website

The site is hosted by Vercel Inc. (USA). To deliver pages and protect the site against abuse, Vercel automatically processes technical data such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you request and the time of the request. This data is kept in server logs for a limited period and is not used to identify you.

Legal basis: my legitimate interest in running a secure, working website (art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Vercel is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and uses Standard Contractual Clauses: https://vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy

Fonts, images and the video are served from this site itself, so no data is sent to font or video providers.

03

Cookies and local storage

This site sets no cookies of its own. Your cookie choice is saved in your browser's local storage so the banner doesn't show again; this is strictly necessary and stays on your device.

Google Maps: the map in the footer and on the contact page is only loaded after you allow it. Google (Google Ireland Ltd. / Google LLC) then receives your IP address and may set cookies. Legal basis: your consent (art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time via "Cookie settings" in the footer. Google's privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy

04

When you contact me

You can reach me by email, WhatsApp, Instagram, LinkedIn or by booking a call via Google Calendar. I then receive the details you share (such as your name, contact details and message) and use them only to answer you, prepare a proposal and, if we work together, carry out the project and invoice it.

Legal basis: steps at your request before a contract and the contract itself (art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), and my legal obligations for accounting (art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).

Retention: conversations are kept as long as needed for our contact or project. Invoices and related data are kept for the period required by Belgian accounting law.

These messaging and booking services are run by their own providers (Meta, LinkedIn, Google), whose privacy policies apply to how they handle your messages.

05

Sharing your data

I never sell your data and don't use it for advertising or automated decision-making. Data is only shared with the service providers mentioned above, as far as needed to run this website and communicate with you.

06

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

  • access the personal data I hold about you
  • have it corrected or deleted
  • restrict or object to its processing
  • receive it in a portable format
  • withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting earlier processing

Send your request to info@larspeetermans.com and I'll respond within one month.

If you believe your data is not handled correctly, you can file a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit), Drukpersstraat 35, 1000 Brussels: https://www.dataprotectionauthority.be
